My Approach to Therapy
Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
Therapy with me is collaborative, integrative, and rooted in real relationship. I donāt follow a one-size-fits-all model. I believe in curiosity, pacing, and honoring the complexity of your lived experience.
We begin with your story.
From there, we look at what youāve been carrying, what has helped you survive, and what youāre ready to shift. Some sessions focus on stabilization and practical tools. Other sessions move toward deeper work involving identity, grief, trauma, family patterns, cultural roots, or parts of you that havenāt had space to be understood. The direction depends on what feels relevant and possible in the room.
My work is trauma-informed and culturally responsive. I pay attention to nervous system patterns, relational dynamics, and the systems and survival strategies that shaped you, not just your thoughts or behaviors. I notice when intellectualizing has helped you stay safe, when emotions feel overwhelming or distant, and when shutting down has been protective. Together, we get curious. We notice patterns, name whatās happening, and gently disrupt whatās keeping you stuck.
I practice integratively, meaning I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on what fits your needs. This may include cognitive and behavioral strategies, parts work, somatic awareness, narrative exploration, values-based work, or trauma processing. These are tools, not rigid frameworks. We use what works, shift when needed, and stay in collaboration.
Some people come to therapy with a clear goal. Others come with a quieter sense that something isnāt working anymore. I work with both. Sometimes we focus on immediate support and regulation. Sometimes we move into deeper pattern work. Often itās a combination, starting with relief and stability and moving toward longer-term healing.
Outside the therapy room, I stay actively engaged in clinical training, trauma-informed practice, and community mental wellness. Iām also building offerings beyond individual therapy, including groups, workshops, and resources for other clinicians. I believe in sharing what heals.
If youāre looking for therapy that is thoughtful, grounded, culturally responsive, and rooted in real relationship, this may be a good place to begin.
Meet Your Therapist
When Iām not in session, Iām usually recharging in ways that feel grounding and creative. I enjoy video games, live music, getting lost in a good book, and spending time with my dog and cat ā who may occasionally make a cameo since weāre meeting virtually. I also love traveling and trying new foods. Exploring different places and cultures keeps me curious about people and their stories, which inevitably shapes how I show up in my work.
